The digestive system consists of several organs including not only
the intestines, but also the liver, pancreas, salivary glands, and
teeth.
Many diseases affect the digestive system because of its large size,
and numerous integrated functions. Gastrointestinal diseases, in general,
are the most difficult to accurately diagnose.
Both acute and chronic forms of the disease which do not respond to
treatment require an in-depth gastrointestinal profile. This may include:
- Radiology
- Barium studies
- Ultrasound examinations
- Endoscopy examinations complete
with micro-biopsies
- Bacterial cultures
- Fecal and/or blood analysis
- Exploratory surgery
Our veterinary diagnostic hospital has invested a great deal of time,
effort, and money to purchase equipment and attend in-depth continuing
education courses to enable us to effectively treat these often frustrating
diseases. |
