Treatment: Surgery

Comments: Precious, a 3 year old female Ring Tailed Lemur came in from the Austin Zoo with acute trauma to her right middle finger. Trauma was so severe that it was beyond repair.

Follow Up Care: Treatment required that the finger be amputated. She was anesthetized and the middle finger was amputated at the knuckle. Stitches were place in the skin to avoid self trauma, and she was sent with pain medication and antibiotics.

Updates: Precious recieved plenty of TLC and her medications were hidden in her favorite foods. She has made a full recovery and doing great!
